ImageMagick is a very powerful set of command line graphics editors. The import command allows you to take screenshots in almost any file type. It supports 95 file types including GIF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, PNG, PDF, PhotoCD, TIFF, and DPX.

To take a screen shotEdit

  1. type
    • import fileName.fileType
    • Example
      • import screen.png
  2. A cross cursor will apere
    • Click and drag it over the part of the screen you wish to capture
    • Be sure the terminal window does not cover what you wish to capture.
