  • Change in the file /boot/grub/menu.lst or /boot/grub/grub.conf the line from
    kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.xx-x-xx root=/dev/hdaX ro
    to
    kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.xx-x-xx root=/dev/hdaX ro video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr vga=0x318
