Many people are looking to improve their appearance and become more fit. If you are dreaming about getting six pack abs, here's a helpful how to guide. Also, even if you're not looking for the perfect six pack, abdominal training can improve your overall fitness by strengthening your core.
Step One: Prepare Yourself
Get ready for your new body! Exercise is only part of the journey, good nutrition is essential for health overhaul. Eat natural, whole foods. Drink lots of water and get enough sleep. Stay away from white bread, pasta, soda, candy and fast food. Some supplements can help you to lose weight by increasing your metabolism or curbing your appetite. But these won't automatically give you six pack abs. You'll have to work for that!
Step Two: Your Workout
Abdominal muscles are like any other muscle in your body, in order to increase tone, you need to isolate the muscles and do various focused, repetitive sets two to three times a week. Do this in addition to your normal cardio routine (walking, running, biking, swimming) 3-4 times a week.
Sample Ab Muscle Exercises:
- Crunches (normal, reverse, and twisting)
- Sit Ups
- Side bends
Add weights to your workout once you can do 15-20 reps of each. If you perform these exercises 2-3 times a week, you should notice a difference in the strength and tone of your torso and the beginnings of six pack abs.
- Poor diet will prevent you from achieving six pack abs. Stay away from sugar-rich treats. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables!
- Be patient, it can take time for your work to pay off!
